La Atalaya - Pampaneira

Se dispone a recorrer un sendero de gran belleza, que atraviesa zonas de densa y variada vegetación, destacando un gran castañar por el que pasará. También verá numerosas ruinas de cortijos abandonados junto a los bancales de cultivo.

Tras recorrer unos 700 metros de pista que se inicia en este punto de carretera, cruce el río por un puente que se encuentra junto al área recreativa para comenzar el ascenso por un sendero zigzagueante.

A los pocos minutos de iniciar la ascensión, nos desviaremos a la izquierda por un sendero que nos llevará a un camino forestal que habrá que tomar hacia la derecha para continuar el itinerario.

Desde esta zona podrá disfrutar de unas vistas estupendas de Capileira, Bubión y Pampaneira con la Sierra como telón de fondo.

Tras unos dos kilómetros llegaremos al "Cortijo de Bañuelo" desde donde iniciaremos el descenso por un sendero que nos conducirá al puente que cruzamos.

This is very pisturesque route, which passes through some areas of dense and varied vegetation. Most stiking among this is a large grove of chestnut trees. It also passes many ruined and abandoned contry houses known as cortijos, and their adjoining terraced farmland.

Follow the track which starts from this point on the main road for about 700 metres, and then cross the river by the bridge which is next to the Public recreation area. Begin the ascent up a path which zigzags across the slope.

A few minutes after beginning to climb, veer towards the left on a path will take you to a forest trail, which you then follow to the right to continue the route.

This area offters some excellent views of the three villages of Cpileira, Bubión and Pampaneira, with the mountains in the background.

After about 2 kilometres the path leads to the "Cortijo de Bañuelo". The descent from here is along a track fwhich leads back to the bridge crossed at the outset.
